Inspector Floyd Reynolds Killed in Traffic Accident

A veteran police officer died in a traffic fatality this weekend. 36 year old Inspector Floyd Reynolds suffered serious injury when the vehicle he was a passenger in flipped over on the Southern Highway. It happened after 5:00 on Saturday evening when Corporal Eugene Benguche and Inspector Reynolds were heading to Punta Gorda.

Reynolds was driving when he lost control of the Chevy Tracker near Big Falls Village. The vehicle rolled over a number of times and Reynolds received major skull trauma. Benguche received only minor injury. Both men were taken to the Punta Gorda Hospital and because of his serious condition, Reynolds had to be transferred to the Dangriga Hospital by ambulance but died on the way there.

Reynolds had been a police officer for 15 years and was the head of Special Branch in Belize City. He had one daughter.
