KIM BARROW ON FABER
Thu, September 11, 2014
On Tuesday, opposition Senator Lisa Shoman called out the Special Envoy for Women and Children Kim Barrow to make a statement on the domestic abuse allegations against Patrick Faber.

And today, the special envoy's office issued a statement that didn't name Faber but saying, quote, "violence against women…is unacceptable and a gross violation of human rights." The statement quotes Mrs. Barrow as encouraging women and men to report acts of violence and follow through with legal proceedings…" which is what didn't happen in the case with Faber and his 25 year old girlfriend. The statement adds quote, "The Domestic Violence Act is there to provide protection and the Police Department has an obligation to respond to all reports of domestic violence regardless of the perpetrator."

The statement closes by saying that Mrs. Barrow's Office will work with stakeholders to review legislation…with a view to ensuring increased protection to victims of domestic violence.
