San Pedro police have taken a few pounds of weed out of circulation on the Island.  Yesterday at midday – acting on Special Branch intelligence – island police searched a San Pedrito apartment room occupied by 27 year old painter Kurt Jason Cruz. They found 4.144 pounds of weed and he was charged for drug trafficking.  He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years imprisonment, plus a fine of ten thousand dollars.

And then, today, San Pedro Special Branch and CIB found another parcel of marijuana at the Tropic Air Cargo section.  This one contained one pound of weed and was labelled as found property
