Today Belize City just got a leg up in the fight against flooding. New devices called limnimeters have been installed above key waterways in the city and in Burrell Boom. These new machines are able to record the height of the water in real time, allowing officials to respond to flood related disaster much faster and greater precision. We spoke to Belize City Councilor Phillip Willoughby, who is responsible for the City's flood mitigation about the importance of this new technology...

The new meters will allow City officials to predict and respond to incoming floods.
