Residents of Punta Gorda Town are finally enjoying the completed works of a rehabilitated road and drainage infrastructure project. It's a 1.7 million dollar investment which the Government of Belize, and the Punta Gorda Town Council collaborated on to work on roads such the Hopeville Loop, and the Robert Pennell and Lucille Melendrez Streets.

The project, implemented by the Social Investment Fund, came with chip seal roads surfaces, a drainage system, street markings, and road signs. It was officially inaugurated with a ceremony yesterday on those brand new streets in PG, and here's what the Minister responsible for SIF, and the Mayor had to say:

Residents of PG told us that this project was first started under the previous PUP Town Council, and it was expected that about 6 months later, it would have been finished. Unfortunately, the completed works took almost 3 years.
