Conch Shell Bay, From War Zone To Community Cradle
Wed, April 19, 2017

Earlier in our newscast, we showed you parts of our interview with Assistant Police Commissioner Chester Williams.

That opportunity presented itself today when he and his officers were out in the Conch Shell Bay area of the city for their weekly meet and greet sessions. Now, viewers will remember that in late December and all the way to the end of January, that part of the city was becoming a hotbed of violence resulting in numerous shootings and murders. But in the weeks that followed, tensions have cooled drastically.

Today, Williams told us that he and his team were conducting a follow up session. He added that Eastern Division South intends to hold a family day in that community:

That family day takes place this Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Lindo’s Alley Basketball Court.
