Dorian Got "The Call"
Fri, February 19, 2021
Two days ago, we brought you the personal experience of COVID positive patient Dorian Pakeman. He had publicly questioned the legitimacy of the numbers being reported, saying there were inaccurate and will only lead to the public have a false sense of security.

The reason he gave for his beliefs was that he never saw his own positive test being reflected in the daily COVID numbers.

Well after the interview he gave us, he gave an update, saying he was contacted by the Department of Public Health today. In a Facebook post, he said that the woman on the other end of the line said that she had just learned that he had tested positive and wanted to do contact tracing and notify him of the quarantine protocols.

He was perplexed since he had already been quarantining for two weeks and, by MOH standards, was already considered recovered. The woman told him was just informed about his status and asked if anyone had called him before. She also said she did not have a report of where the positive test came from.

Pakeman continued his post by asking whether the public health department received his test from the private facility he took it at, or from the swab taken from him at the airport when he arrived in Belize - seeing as he caught the virus in the US.

Either way, he noted his concern that the Ministry waited two weeks after he tested positive before getting in contact with him.
