Still No CEO At MOHW
Tue, January 4, 2022
Questions persist tonight about the status of Dra. Lesbia Guerra, who was supposed to have taken over as the new CEO in the Ministry of Health and Wellness in late December.

While she did show up for meetings with a transition team in the week of December 20th, persistent reports say she has not been in office so far this year - and is not expected to be there either.

Reports suggest that what was shared during the orientation meetings with a transition team - did not sit well with the Dra. Guerra - and she did not feel comfortable taking over the ministry.

Also, she was taking over from another Dra. - Deysi Mendez who had an acrimonious departure from the Ministry in November. Reliable reports tell 7News that her departure was cemented after a case of serious verbal abuse - and actions perceived as physical threats were allegedly directed against her by a politically connected person.

These are what the prime minister later described as "personality differences" leading to her departure.

And while Dra. Mendez is now headed for the NHI office at the Social Security Board, and Dra. Lesbia is in limbo - it is unclear who will take over the leadership at the Ministry of Health and Wellness.
