| And the PM said yesterday that Minister Fonseca made suggestions on how to assist with the cost of living. Today we asked him about it.
Francis Fonseca, Minister of Foreign Affairs
"Yeah. I mean, every, every representative, I think we exhaust all of the, the resources that are available to us, in support of our constituencies. It's never enough. You know, every day that you get up, there are dozens of requests for support in many different ways. And we know that, you know, these are genuine needs, from people who are going through challenging times. So the reality is that, yes, we do use these funds for to support our constituency constituencies. But yes, we will have I think, as the Prime Minister has indicated, we will have a, discussion, at the next cabinet meeting on Tuesday about the overall cost of living. We do it every meeting. But this meeting, we've decided that we will, table a paper. We will have a comprehensive discussion, and we will look at all of those issues, including the allowances. So that will be a topic for discussion at this upcoming meeting."

"Sorry. Putting together that paper."
Francis Fonseca, Minister of Foreign Affairs
"I yeah, well, I volunteered to do it. I wasn't asking because I'd like outside, other countries maybe. Yeah. No, I'm looking at of course, the, you know, all of the challenges we're facing, you know, people, we're looking at the, the tax system, how can we look at the tax structure and say, how can we provide relief for people? Look at obviously the utilities, you know, what more can we do? We've done certain things. As you know, we've implemented some subsidies with transportation. But, so how can we look at all of these things, and, and make some decisions, some very specific decisions about how we can alleviate, some of the burden that the Belizean people are facing. So I expect us to have a robust, as we always do, a robust, comprehensive discussion, with many, many ideas coming from, from cabinet members."
