posted (January 24, 2018)
Police also discussed their ongoing case against the 3 Mexicans who have been charged with theft from Atlantic Bank. Police believe that from November up to last week, Leonel Isaac Rodriguez Peralta, Joscan Jafet Hernandez, and Belen Hernandez had been visiting Atlantic Bank ATM's in the Corozal, Orange Walk, Belize and Cayo Districts and that they withdrew huge sums of money with over 60 international credit cards which are all believed to be stolen.

But, they've only been charged with theft of a thousand dollars, when the cops have reason to believe that they stole in the vicinity of a Hundred Thousand dollars from the bank. Today, police say that they are working with the bank, and if they are able to, additional charges will be brought against the trio:

ASP Alejandro Cowo - OC, CIB Belize City
"So far the investigation has been pointing out that it has been only 3 of them involved. We do not have any information to indicate that nay other Belizean or any other national have been involved so far in our investigation."

Reporter
"These persons are suspected to be further charged with other theft because it's only $1,001 dollars?"

ASP Alejandro Cowo - OC, CIB Belize City
"Yes we are working closely with the bank to get additional information and as soon as we have all that information if there are more charges, more charges will be levied on them."
