Orange Walk Remains Identified As Those of Armick Escobar
posted (July 31, 2008)

In the past few days, there’s been a lot of back and forth about the human remains found over the weekend in a cane field in the Orange Walk District. The question is: are they Armick Escobar’s? The twenty two year old had been missing since July fifteenth. Well tonight, 7NEWS has also been reliably informed that the Escobar family is satisfied that the clothing and personnel possessions found among the remains are his.

Those clothes include a three quarter grey Dickies pants, a gray and white polo shirt, and a pair of black and green Jordan tennis shoes. A key was also found – which the family has identified as his. But what’s been dealing everything is the fact that police buried the remains without them being identified. Now, we are informed that they will be exhumed tomorrow. After that the family is making arrangements are to have the remains of Armick Escobar laid to rest in Stann Creek.

But while the remains have now been identified as that of Armick Escobar what remains a mystery is why he was killed. The remains showed that his hands had been bound, and he was shot once to the head. Belize City Police have no leads in this case and they have no one detained or in custody for the murder. If you can assist the police in solving this case call the nearest police station or Crime Stoppers 0–800-922–TIPS.
