Electrician Charged for Aggravated Assault
posted (December 29, 2008)

A 20 year old electrician along with his 15 year old relative are in jail tonight after a shooting on Christmas night. Keon Swasey and the 15 year old have been fingered as the gunmen who opened fire on randy quilter and his family on Reggae Street around 8:20 on Thursday. He says Swasey fired between 4 to 5 shots and though he got away – the bullets damaged his television set, his entertainment center, and his windows.

Quilter further claims that Keon and his relative then pointed the gun at his mother Beverly Neal and his 15 year old sister and ordered them to run inside or they would be shot. They of course ran and Keon and his relative ran off. Police caught up with Keon on Friday and his 15 year old relative later surrendered. They say they found the 9 milimeter gun used in the shooting on Swasey.

Both were jointly charged today with two counts each of aggravated assault and possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Keon was additionally charged with damage to property for Quilter’s TV, entertainment center, and louvers. Both the boy and man were denied bail and remanded to prison.
