There was a stunning murder in Cayo about an hour ago. News just in to 7NEWS
is that a Bowen and Bowen employee was shot and killed in a robbery attempt
this evening in San Ignacio. Information is that around 5:30 these evening –
two Bowen and Bowen employees – who are security guards - were shot in
front of the Belize Bank on Burns Avenue where they were depositing the day’s
sales. Exiting the truck –two gunmen pulled up in a taxi and opened fire
on the two employees – this is in the very heart of San Ignacio.
Information to 7NEWS is that one of the security
guards was fatally wounded after being shot in the chest. The other reportedly
attacked the gunman and was shot in the head. He is in a critical condition.
The driver was unhurt. The gunman reportedly got off with the cash.
