Last night we told you the fire at the Belize City dump had been suppressed and that city dwellers wouldn’t have to worry about it over the weekend. But, it seems we spoke too soon. Sometime between last night and this morning, the fire started up again, and this afternoon, crews were busy at work trying to put it out. That excavator City Councilor Phillip Willoughby has been promising was finally made available and when we visited this afternoon it was at work unearthing the fire at its root, which is deep within the garbage bog at news time.
