Chef Busted with Counterfeit Cash

Today a former chef of Journey’s End in San Pedro was today charged with possession of counterfeit notes. Court reports are that around seven thirty on the evening of November thirteenth, thirty one year old Fredrick Arzu was a passenger on a bus and which stopped at mile three on the northern highway and he paid the conductor with a fifty dollar note. The conductor realized that he had just been paid with fake money alerted a police officer who just happened to be travelling on the bus. When the cop searched Fredrick Arzu he found seven fifty dollar notes all counterfeit stashed in his wallet.

Arzu was charged with the possession of eight fifty dollar counterfeit Belize currency. Fredrick Arzu claimed that he sold a gold chain to a friend in Maskall for four hundred dollars and the friend paid him with the eight fifty dollar notes. According to Fredrick Arzu he did not know the money was counterfeit.

Fredrick Arzu pleaded not guilty to the charge and was released on bail in the amount of two thousand dollars. His case has been adjourned until December twenty third.
