Woman Attacks Woman on East Canal
posted (December 17, 2009)

There was a stabbing this morning in downtown Belize City. It occurred near the bustling corner of East Canal and Church Streets across from Public’s Supermarket and it involved two women. But that is all the information we have since police have not issued an official release or even confirmed to 7News that the brutal midmorning stabbing occurred. But our 7News team was on the scene shortly after and Keith Swift found out what he could.

Keith Swift Reporting,
The woman on woman attack occurred inside the Plum Street Restaurant on East Canal Street at around 10 this morning. Lisa Bennett saw it unfold from across the street and tried to intervene.

Lisa Bennett, Witness
“This morning I was across at Public’s minding my own business when I saw a commotion happening over here and when I looked I saw the lady hauled a next one through the door and they started to wrestle. When I looked I saw blood all over their faces and I tried to part them. I even got blood on my clothes but I’ve already washed it off already. The next lady, the tacos lady, apparently just went in and attacked a worker and starting to juk up and cut her on her hand here on her side, and in her head.”

The motive was reportedly jealousy.

Lisa Bennett,
“They had a problem from last week. It looks like the young lady who works here apparently attacked the lady from the tacos place and so she just came back today for revenge. But I don’t know why they started their thing, I don’t know if it is because of man or they have something else which they have bout.”

We hope to have more information tomorrow night.
