Coast Guard Engineered Charged for Fuel Theft

Kareem Smith - an engineer with the Belize National Coast Guard was today charged with theft for allegedly stealing fuel from the Coast Guard. Police allege that between February 3rd and February 8th – Smith stole 50 gallons of fuel from the Coast Guard Headquarters at the Williamson Complex in Ladyville. The value of the stolen gas is $430.50.

He was also charged with damage to property for damaging the fuel hose on one of the Coast Guard vessels. Kareem Smith pleaded not guilty and he was offered and met bail of $3,000. He is due back in court on April 21st.
