Belize’s youth basketballers have bolted out of the gates at the Central American Under 12 and Under 15 tournament being played at the Quetzalteco stadium in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. In the first game of the under 12 competition, Belize beat Guatemala’s B team 50 to 22. And in the first game of the Under 15 competition the Belize team also crushed Guatemala’s B team, 44 to 12. But don’t get out your victory flags yet because tomorrow, the Belize teams will face the Guatemalan A squad which is expected to put up sturdier opposition. The Under 12 team played El Salvador this afternoon, and the under 15 team will play El Salvador tomorrow morning. We’ll have more scores on Monday.
