A 49 year old construction worker of Vista Del Mar, Ladyville, who allegedly
had sex with his 8 year old daughter and fondled his 11 year old daughter, was
charged with incest and grievous harm for the 8 year old and aggravated assault
for the 11 year old.
The man was arraigned on the charges when he appeared today in the #4 Magistrate’s
court. Magistrate Aretha Ford explained to him that she would not take a plea
from him for the offences of incest and grievous harm, since they are indictable
offenses. She also explained to the man that the court cannot offer him bail
because of the nature of the offences. She remanded him into custody until April
14th. As to the charge of aggravated assault, the man also pleaded not guilty
and Magistrate Ford denied him bail in the first instance and adjourned that
case also until April 14th.
The 8 year old who was examined by a Physician, reported to the police that
her father had sex with her during the summer of 2008.
