Police are looking for one man who tried to rob a woman using a toy gun. Police say it happened at the corner of Elston Kerr and Rosalie Street last night at 10:00. Fastina Velasquez, a customer care representative was walking home when a man ran up from behind, hit her on the head with a gun, and then demanded her cell phone and money. She handed over a RAZR phone, but then started to struggle with her would-be robber. Sensing that he'd bitten off more than he could chew, the gunman dropped his gun and dashed off in the direction of the cemetery.
Police were called and when they responded they found a black plastic gun on the street. Investigators say they know who they are looking for. When we visited the area today, residents at that very corner said they were out on their veranda at that time and didn't see a robbery occur.
