Around 4:30 this evening - 25 year old Leon Yorke was shot at his house on Berries Street behind the St. Martin's area. The shooting incident was basically over some...what should we say...- baby mama- drama - even though Yorke is none of the two female's baby daddy.
But earlier today, Yorke's sister was involved in an argument with the father of her baby's current girlfriend. That was when the real baby daddy showed up at Yorke's house with a gun - pulled up on his verandah and pulled the trigger. Yorke was hit to the arm and his brother Kareem Yorke was grazed with the same bullet.
Silliness that almost turned deadly, and Kareem Yorke told us what happened.

"All I know is that when I came home my sister got into a quarrel with the one of the neighbors kid. They don't like that my sister have a baby for the guy, so the girl went and told her boyfriend (the real baby's father) that's why the guy came in rage with a bat, then he went back for a gun and shot my brother."

"The first time he came with the bat, what happen?"
Kareem Yorke
"Nothing didn't happen so he just went home and came back with a gun."

"Did your brother come outside?"
Kareem Yorke
"No my brother was inside his house."
Monica Bodden
"So when he came with the bat nobody came outside?"
Kareem Yorke
"No."
Monica Bodden
"When he came with the gun he went right up to your door?"
Kareem Yorke
"On the verandah, yeah. And then he just shot my brother."
Monica Bodden
"How much shot were fired?"
Kareem Yorke
"Only one."
Monica Bodden
"Where were you standing to got a graze?"
Kareem Yorke
"I was standing on the side and when the bullet hit through the door it hits my brother then the wall and then it hit me."
Leon Yorke was shot in his arm. He is listed as stable at the KHMH.
