Forty three year old Sandhill businessman Wilhelm Leslie Jr. who the police allegedly caught in bed with a 13 year old girl, was charged with 2 counts of carnal knowledge when he appeared in court today.
Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser explained to Leslie that she will not take a plea because the offences are indictable. He was remanded him into custody until August 7th.
The incident is alleged to have occurred in April of 2006 when the girl reported to the police that she was at Leslie's house and he had sex with her in the bedroom, while his common law wife was using the bathroom. She said she would go to Leslie's house 6 times a week and he had relations with her regularly.
The girl also told police that in March of 2010, Leslie's common law wife left him and went to live in Ladyville. She said she began working at Leslie's shop from 4 pm until 9pm everyday.
She reported that about 9:30 pm on Friday July 2nd, Leslie had relations with her in the bedroom, and then they went to sleep. She said they were awakened when the police came to his house and caught them both together in bed.
The girl was examined by a doctor who certified that she had been carnally known.
