Keon Williams, A Verdict, Finally
posted (July 7, 2010)
At the end of the news last night we left you hanging, waiting for the verdict in the Keon Williams trial. It came out at about 7:40 where there was a celebration at the courtroom because Keon Williams Myvette known as Duppy had been found not guilty of murder.

Here's what that scene looked like.

Anthony Sylvestre Jr., Attorney
"In these types of murder trials they are really no winners, they are all losers. The defendant as he had testified in court he has been away from his family for the last 3 years and the deceased of course is no longer with his family. There are really no winners in a case like this. Fortunately for the defendant the jury believes that he was telling the truth and so they acquitted him."

Rhenea Nunez, Reporter
"How much do you think the twist and turns with the changes in the jury and what have you....All the things that happened during the trial affected the outcome of this trial?"

Anthony Sylvestre Jr.
"I don't think that that had anything to do with outcome of the trial. Basically what the evidence has presented in a court of law that's what a jury has to consider and after having considered all the evidence the jury has found him not guilty."

So to wrap it up, Myvette is not guilty of the murder of 32 year old Michael "Poppa" Gladden who was shot to death on Lovely Lane on February 28th, 2007. This was his third trial; the first was a hung jury, the second had to be aborted - and the third took five weeks to complete because there were three jury selections and the illness of a juror.
