Eighteen year old Andres Bailey, resident of Ladyville who is alleged to have sodomized a 7 year old boy, was charged with an unnatural crime when he appeared today in the Number one Magistrate's court. Bailey was also charged with dangerous harm and aggravated assault for the damage he caused to the child.
Chief Magistrate Margaret McKenzie explained to him that she will not take a plea because the offences are indictable. The prosecution objected to bail on the grounds that the victim is a minor, and that both the accused and minor live in the same yard and that there is the possibility that more charges will be filed against the accused.
McKenzie upheld the objection and remanded Bailey into custody until September 16th.
The incident involving aggravated assault occurred on April 24th, 2009. The child reported to the police that Bailey molested him in a truck parked just outside his house.
The charge of an unnatural crime arose from an incident which took place last month, June 5th, which the boy reported that the accused had buggered him.
