Robbers Caught Red Handed
posted (July 23, 2010)
Police made a major intercept on Mahogany Street late this afternoon as they caught four men who had pulled an armed robbery an hour earlier.

The robbery occurred at around 4:00 at Brodies Agrochemical at mile one and a half on the Northern Highway near the Rotary Roundabout. Three men strode in, one of them was armed with a chrome 9 millimeter pistol and they stole a few wallets, and the cash pan.

They sped off in a taxi - and ditched that vehicle in the complex area and then came out in a Toyota taxi-van.

Sharp police work led to a stop and search of that van in front of the mahogany street police station where police saw a large amount of cash scattered on the ground.

Police searched inside and found most of what had been reported at the Brodies depot. They also found the chrome nine millimeter pistol that had allegedly been used in the robbery. Four men were taken into custody and they are expected to be charged next week.
