A twenty five year old boat captain who fired shots at a police officer was today charged with aggravated assault when he appeared today in court. Karl Heusner, Jr. who resides on Berkley Street fired the shots at Police Constable Reginald Diego on Monday morning after the constable who is attached to the Motorcycle unit responded to a report of shots fired on Berkley Street. When the officer arrived on the scene, Heusner is alleged to have fired several shots at him, but missed. Police backup units in the area detained Heusner shortly afterwards and arrested him. Heusner was remanded into custody until September 16th, after Senior Magistrate, Sharon Fraser denied him bail due to the nature of the offence.
