One very deadly weapon is off the streets after Orange Walk police made a significant bust yesterday. It happened yesterday around 3:30 near the San Estevan roundabout on the Orange Walk Bypass when the officers tried to intercept a gray Mazda car that refused to stop. Police continued chasing the car and upon reaching mile 59 on the Northern Highway - the driver ran off the road. Three men dashed out the vehicle and escaped into the nearby bushes. Police searched the car and found one M16 Riffle along with its magazine containing 18 live rounds. The car was impounded and the firearm and ammunition was kept as exhibit. Police are now looking for 3 men in connection with the incident.
