Remembering Keith At Carnival Time
posted (September 9, 2010)
Whenever it comes to carnival time that is when we most miss our recently deceased colleague Keith Swift. Truth is we miss him every day, but more so when it's carnival time. Carnival was his thing…oh no, he never marched - that wasn't his style, but the stories he did coloured and came to publicly define the carnival.

It wasn't so much the storey, but the style he brought to it, with an offbeat often zany sense of humour and a boyish willingness to surrender to mischief.

And nowhere was this more apparent than when he participated in the mud splattered jouvert. He covered most of them for 7news since jouvert started in 2002, and as we do our first without him, we remember that singular style with a brief look back to some of the juveey's he covered between 2004 and 2009…

And in memory of Keith Swift and that spontaneous, carefree spirit he brought to carnival yearly, join me, and Taneesha Vernon along with Monica Bodden and Emaun Hyde here live on Channel 7 on Saturday at 12:00 noon for our coverage of carnival 2010.
