Obstruction Charge Drummed Out Of Court

On June seventh we told you about well known drummer Joshua Arana. He was arrested and charged for obstruction of justice after casually taking a walk in his neighborhood early one morning.

The Garifuna drummer who has toured the world with Andy Palacio, Paul Nabor and others said he'd never been treated so poorly as he was that night on George street.

And he was vindicated in court yesterday when the charge was thrown out. He told us that he feels good to have the stain off his name - but something still remains:..

"I got to court this morning and the police officer Mr. Johan Alvarado was there and he showed up with a little more than half page of notes. That was nothing at all."

"So you've been vindicated but I think you are still resentful, angry?"

"I am still very mad about it and I showed up today in court today with my lawyer Mr. Musa and we are still exploring our legal options. We will se what's going to be done now."

Arana today told us that the internal affairs department called him to say that the arresting officer Johann Alvarado will face disciplinary charges. We were unable to confirm this with police….
