Palm Island Car Jacking Supects Caught

Last night we told you about a carjacking at Palm Island - well tonight the news is that police have charged two men for the crime.

Twenty five year old Carlo "Carlito" Gutierrez and Twenty eight year old Derrick "Bobo" Munnings, who were found inside a stolen Ford ranger pickup, were charged with handling stolen goods when they appeared today in the number 8 Magistrate's court. They pleaded not guilty.

Magistrate Emmerson Banner offered each of them a bail of Five Thousand dollars and adjourned their case until November 1st.

On Saturday September 25th at around 1:00 am, fifty year old banker, Lance Bernard, the owner of the Ford Ranger left the club and was returning to his vehicle when he was struck in the back of his head with an object and fell to the ground. He said he was beaten while he was on the ground and his assailants drove away in his vehicle. The police reported that they found the vehicle on Dolphin Drive later the same day and Gutierrez and Munnings were in it. The police also reported that the vehicle's stereo and some assorted tools were missing.
