Detainee Caught Stealing (his own) Marijuana From Police

25 year old Adrian Myvette, a resident of Burrell Boom Village who was caught by police with 30.1 grams of cannabis and allegedly escaped from Burrell Boom Police Station with the cannabis, was charged with 5 offences when he appeared today in Magistrate's Court.

The offences included burglary, possession of a controlled drug, damage to property, resisting arrest and escape from lawful custody. Myvette pleaded not guilty to burglary and escape from lawful custody. He pleaded guilty to damage to property and possession of a controlled drug. He wanted to plead guilty to resisting arrest but an equivocal plea of not guilty was entered for him. Magistrate Emerson Banner fined him five hundred dollars for damage to the cell at Burrell Boom Police Station and eight hundred dollars for possession of 30.1 grams of cannabis. He gave Myvette until November 4th to pay the fines.

He offered Myvette a bail of five thousand dollars for the other offenses and adjourned his case until November 4th. The incident occurred around 12:30pm on Friday October 1st. The police were on mobile patrol in Burrell Boom when they say Myvette with a blue bag in his hand. Myvette ran when he saw the police but he was quickly caught and taken to Burrell Boom Police Station with the bag which contained 30.1 grams of cannabis. Later the same day when the police went to the cell for Myvette, they found that he was missing and the bag of cannabis which was in another room was also missing. The burglar bar and mesh wire of the cell were damaged. The police searched for Myvette and found him walking into the bushes away from his house. The police reported that Myvette resisted them but they detained him and took him into custody with the same blue bag of cannabis in his possession.
