Tonight senior personnel in the immigration department and the ministry of defense are scrambling to find out details about a mystery plane that landed at the Phillip Goldson International on Sunday night.
Details are very hard to come by even for authorities - but 7news has confirmed that the plane landed at around 7:00 pm on Sunday night. It came from Port Au Prince, Haiti, and according to very credible reports, no passengers were declared.
Still, the plane carried a significant number of mainland Chinese who disembarked and were reportedly processed or facilitated by Immigration department personnel.
We were unable to reach minister with responsibility for Immigration Carlos Perdomo and the CEO Allen Whylie would not comment, referring us to the minister.
It is a major story as the plane was un-declared and orchestrated to arrive in secret. As is widely known Belize has in the past been used as a forwarding point for Chinese Nationals trying to get into the United States.
