Senior government officials from Mexico and Belize met in Chetumal on September 30th. and October first. No, they weren't reviewing prices at Sam's Club, they were holding the 6th. Belize Mexico Bi-national Technical Meeting.
A number of agreements were worked on dealing with security, intelligence gathering, science and technology and other areas.

"We have had practical outcomes in terms of scholarships, in terms of cooperation for technology, in terms of facilitating the crossing at the border and at the same time now we have for example more exchange in terms of intelligence. They have been very concrete in terms of the agreements and one of them for example is that Mexico is going to continue providing assistance in terms of canine training for example. The other one is that there have been Belizean officials who have travelled to Mexico in order to have specific training in different areas. That's going to continue and actually that's going to be large in terms of training goes in Mexico. At the same time in the regional level Mexico and Belize are going to work together in order to implement the Central America and Mexico strategy. I think that the outcome of this commission that transpired was that both Mexico and Belize have reached an unprecedented level of cooperation and dialogue on all these matters."
The Meetings are a precursor to Prime Minister Dean Barrow's first official visit to Mexico around the middle of this month.
