Ladyville Burglars Busted

Ladyville police say they have cracked the case on a major burglary.

Four adults and two minors were charged for the burglary in which items valued at ($44,670.00) forty four thousand, six hundred and seventy dollars were stolen.

They appeared today in Magistrate's Court. The adults are 21 year old Cruz Encalada, 24 year old Jason Patnett, 22 year old Roy Lord and 24 year old Panice Smith. The minors are two boys, one 13 and the other 15.

Encalada, Patnett and Lord were charged with burglary for allegedly breaking into the concrete bungalow house of American National Udgen Brick, located at 19 Falcon Street, Ladyville. The burglary occurred between October 24 and 25.

All 6 were charged with 2 counts of handling stolen goods, 2 counts of keeping firearm without a gun because and 2 counts of keeping ammunition without a gun license and drug trafficking for one thousand, seven hundred and fifty grams of cannabis.

These charges were as a result of a search made by police in the yard of the residence of Patnett, located at 2086 Vista Del Mar, Ladyville.

The police reported that they recovered some of the stolen items, one Smith and Wesson point 380 pistol with 13 rounds of ammunition, one Taurus brand point 380 pistol with 4 rounds of 9 millimetre ammunition and the cannabis.

Encalada had pleaded guilty to one of the firearms and some of the ammunition. But Magistrate Emmerson Banner did not accept the guilty plea because Encalada did not agree to the facts stated. Lord had also pleaded guilty to the other firearm and some of the ammunition. But Magistrate Banner entered a plea of not guilty because like Encalada he did not agree with the facts. One of the minors, the 15 year old had pleaded guilty to one count of handling stolen goods but his plea was not accepted because he also did not agree with the facts. The adults were remanded to prison while the minors were remanded to Youth Hostel. They are to return to Court on December 1.
