posted (November 5, 2010)
There was a serious accident last night at 7:30 on the outskirts of Belize City. It was a head on collision which happened at mile two on the Western Highway.

30 year old Gayna Richards was driving a gold Mercury Tracer Westbound when she collided with a Bluebird Bus, driven by Leslie Rogers, who was coming into the city.

Rogers told PLUS TV that the car came into his lane at high speed:…

Leslie Rogers, Bus Driver
"One of my friends is going back to the states tomorrow. I drive a school bus and coming down from the road and when I got to this point here I saw the vehicle lose control in front of me. I pull on the side and it still end up into my bus because the car was coming with a lot of speed. I try to avoid it; I pull way on the side. then the car spin facing the other direction. I was trying to avoid because if it had a direct impact the person would probably die or something like that. I think the car was coming too fast and it lost control. No other vehicle was on the road."

Richards was transported to the KHMH with both legs broken and is listed in a stable condition.
