Hapless Robber Charged

Earlier this week we told you about 39 year old Kent Moss who resisted an armed robber a robber and managed to get his gun. Moss got the gun, but the would-be robber ran off.

Well, police say they have him now and he is 19 year old Kevin Pott, who was charged with attempted robbery and 3 counts of aggravated assault when he appeared today in Magistrate's court.

Pott pleaded not guilty. He was denied bail and remanded because it is a firearm offence.

The incident occurred around 8:40 P.M. on Monday, November 8th. Moss, a Housing Inspector of Freedom street reported to police that he and three friends were standing at the corner of Jasmine street and Marigold Lane when they were approached by two persons, one of them armed with a .38 revolver. Moss said the gunman pointed the .38 at them, then tried to pull his gold chain from his neck. But the attempt was foiled when Lincoln Thompson, one of Moss' friend punched the gunman and the gun fell from his hand. Both assailants then fled from the scene. Police recovered the gun and apprehended Pott on Wednesday, of this week.
