posted (November 16, 2010)
A twenty four year old administrative officer at the Belize Healthcare Partners Limited was robbed at gunpoint last night - and were it not for a faulty weapon, he could have been killed. Christopher Aguilar, told police that while he and a friend was standing on the side walk on Marine Parade Drive - 2 men riding on a bicycle rode past them. Aguillar said they stopped a short distance away, got off the bicycle and approached him. One of the men pulled out a firearm from his waist and pointed it to Aguillar's head demanding that he hand over everything.

Aguilar handed over one of his two gold chains. The men demanded that he handed over the other but he refused. The gunman then pulled the trigger, but fortunately the gun snapped and struggle between Aguillar and the gunman ensued.

Police were called to the area where they detained 19 year old Kenjerdic Wade and 18 year old Robert Roaches. The two teenagers, were remanded to prison today after they were charged with robbery.

Roches was also charged with wounding. They pleaded not guilty to the charges. Magistrate Emmerson Banner explained to them that the court cannot offer them bail because the offences were committed with a firearm. He remanded them into custody until December 15.
