A 17 year old boy who allegedly stole a firearm from special constable Carlos Thompson by pulling it from the waist of his pants, was charged with theft and keeping a firearm without a gun license when he appeared yesterday in Belize Family Court.
The teenager pleaded not guilty to the charges. Because of the firearm offence the court could not offer him bail and he was remanded until January 27th 2011.
The incident occurred on Saturday November 13. Thompson reported to the police that he was sitting in a police vehicle with a pistol stuck in the waist of his pants when the culprit came by and pulled the pistol and ran. Police report that when they apprehended him he had the stolen pistol.
