Dj Motion Mashed Up By Police
posted (November 23, 2010)
On Thursday night's newscast we told you about a crew of Belize City men in an Isuzu Trooper who were detained in connection with beatdown on Wednesday night.

The driver of the Trooper was well known DJ Motion - and yesterday he told Monica Bodden that he was mistreated and wrongfully detained:..

Monica Bodden Reporting
This black Isuzu trooper - driven by popular More Fm Dj - Motion - was intercepted by police - with big guns- on Thursday night.

Police believed a shot was fired from out the vehicle just minutes before.

A search was conducted- meanwhile Motion and his other two passengers were ordered to lie on the street.

But police did not find any weapons - all they found was a big TV, some baby clothing and laptop computer.

That still didn't stop them from arresting the trio. In fact they spent over 24 hours in a holding cell. According to Motion it was pure police insanity - and he believes that neither he nor his 2 passengers were dealt with correctly.

DJ Motion
"On the way coming down Central American Boulevard going into Mahogany Street, I see a police red vehicle pulling in front of us, they jump out with big guns and they told us to stop and get out of the vehicle. So I stop the vehicle and they told us to lay down on the ground, so we lay on the ground and I see the BDF kicking my friends to the ground and then a police officer told me to get up, so I get up and he said that they will search my vehicle. The first thing I ask the officer is what are they searching the vehicle for? At that time I heard the other police officer saying that they will book all of us for PI Shooting. I say PI shooting and he say yes and he even said that the dude is dead, I say dead? Shooting? I say anyway search my vehicle because I don't have anything to hide."

The person they were taking about was Morris Martinez - who was badly beaten around 11 o'clock that night on La Croix Boulevard. Neighbors say they saw Martinez being chased by 5 men and heard a single shot being fired from the black trooper. But according to Motion, he was up the street from where the fight took place - and yes indeed he did gave a ride to two of the men that were engaged in the altercation. - But at no point was a shot being fired from his vehicle.

DJ Motion
"I am telling them that I wasn't there and wasn't on the scene but the big mistake that I made was to call one of my friends who was in the fight, call him in the vehicle now and basically somebody must have tell them that it was the dude in black trooper. All that they found in the vehicle is the clothes that I put in the vehicle for my friend because his girl was pregnant and had to go to the hospital, she just had a baby today. So I put in the TV, put in the clothes, now all that they find was clothes and a TV and the laptops that we use to DJ."

Motion and his two other passengers were all arrested and taken away to the police station - where they were held for more than 24 hours.

DJ Motion
"I was at the police station and they say to book all of them for PI shooting, I say what, I can't believe this, they will book us for something that we don't know about. The police say that this man got 3 shots and the other officer is saying that one shot was fired and it caught him in the cheek. I said what is this now. When I did my own investigation, when they held us it was only a burst head and burst lips that the dude get. They did their dressing up and ban his head and he came out of the hospital and we were still there locked up. The police did not ask us or me any question about what happen about the fight or what happen about some shooting that they heard."

Monica Bodden
"So no shooting happen? And not from that black trooper?"

DJ Motion
"No shooting happen and no shooting happen out of my black trooper."

Motion believes they were handled unfairly.

DJ Motion
"Otherwise from that nothing else happen out of that incident, so I didn't understand why the police still put PI shooting that they had us in there for. The thing is that the police didn't do their homework and then to get my vehicle was a different thing now because some "dunsy" cop put somebody else's name for my keys so I had to stay there again to get my own keys, I told the police that on my vehicle has my name 'motion' on it, that all you need. I waited there for an hour to get my own keys because the police went off with somebody else's keys. They took my drivers' license and nobody know who have it, they took my friend phone and nobody know who have it so they are not doing their homework, those things are wrong, I can understand why enough people complains about the police."

Motion and his friends were released without being charged..
