Red Cross Soldiering On
posted (December 3, 2010)
Fire gutted the Red Cross building in Belize City at 3:30 am on Wednesday morning and organization says damages are estimated at between $275,000.00 and $300,000.00 dollars.

A statement today from director Lily Bowman says that, quote: "We may have suffered damages in the fire, but we will not let this dampen our spirits. We will continue to help the most vulnerable, and not let this bump in the road stop us from carrying out our mission."

An in keeping with that statement of resolve, today, Workers sorted, packed, and moved salvageable documents, equipment, and furniture from the rubble to a new temporary facility.

The interim office - to be used while repairs are carried out - will be at the Mercy Convent Compound behind the offices of the PUC. All Red Cross activities proceed on schedule.
