On Friday night we told you about the abysmal grades on the police promotional exam. Well it's not as bad as we thought - but that's because the passing grade of 65-60 listed in the police orders were changed at the last minute and substituted with a more permissive 60-60.
With that grade, it means that of the 479 police men and women who sat the test, 111 passed; under the 65-60 passing mark - which, again, was listed in the police orders, it would have been only 39.
The constables performed best, 84 of 293 passed; of the 109 Corporals, 14 passed, and of the 77 Sergeants, 13 passed. That means of the 479 who took the test - under the 60 - 60 passing mark, 111 passed.
That means that 23% of the 479 test-takers got a passing grade.
