Gegg Gets Injunction Against The Tourist Board
posted (March 24, 2011)
In February, when tourist Diana Mechling was killed because she got caught in the propellers of a tourist boat, it sent shock waves through the tourist industry.

The Port Authority charged Captain of the vessel 55 year old Pariente with negligently causing loss of life, and suspended his captain's license.

And now the Tourism Board has acted by revoking the license of Cruise Solutions Limited. A starnegly worded release form the BTB says, quote:

"the BTB's revocation of the company's license, effective March 21st-28th, was based on an inquiry conducted by the BTB into the death of Mrs. Diana Mechling.."

Well today owner of Cruise Solutions David Gegg told us that his company won an injunction in the Supreme Court today against the Belize Tourism Board. Gegg says he suspects the effort by the board, quote: "is driven by malice." He says the action might be to deflect attention from some of the 'internal bickering and more pressing issues' facing the BTB at the moment. His company is represented by Attorneys Naima Barrow and Andrew Marshalleck.
