Well Known Cook Killed
posted (April 4, 2011)
And while no one knows who killed Abner Rodriguez or why, the same goes for Joe Hamilton.

The well-known food man was the weekend's first casualty. The 44 year old was gunned down around 5:15 on Saturday morning. According to Police, the Wagner's Lane resident was riding his bicycle on South Street after dropping off his wife on Amara Avenue. At the corner with Plues Street - just two blocks from his home - he was shot to the left side of his head, to the right side of his head, to the left cheek, to the left side of his neck, to his right shoulder, right arm and left ear. He was pronounced dead on arrival. Hamilton who was the delivery guy for Carol Bowman at her kitchen on Pine Street - had been working there for the last 5 years. Today she described him:…

Carol Bowman, Employer
"He takes out my food to sell. Joe does anything that we ask him to do. You could tell Joe to do any errand and he always ready to do it."

Monica Bodden
"When you heard the news that he was actually murdered. What came to your mind right away?"

Carol Bowman, Employer
"Just like if it was one of my child because around here I see Joe grew up; Joe and his grandmother live right on the other street and Joe was always a close person to me. Here on Pine Street, even the children that go to Pine Street Pre-School would miss Joe. Every morning Jose had something to tell everybody that would pass by. Joe like basketball, he like football and when Lakers playing and they lose Joe would come by to provoke my husband telling him that Lakers lose - this and that. But Joe was a kind person, it is so sad. I don't know why, but around here we will surely miss Joe. We as parents, we as believers in Christ, mothers, we need to pray for Belize because Belize need prayers right now and on a serious note lets pray for our youths. we don't want any more retaliation, we don't want everybody just shooting one another but let's pray for one another because right now.....the thing I would want to advise parents is to let's take back our children to Sunday School, I think that is the biggest breakdown. Everybody says its politics and this and that, but we need God back in our homes and that's what we need right now."
