George Street General, “Hogbone” Shot
posted (April 12, 2011)
A general in the George street gang, Avondale Trumbach Fuller, known as Hogbone was shot this evening on West Collet Canal in Belize city. He was rushed to the hospital but died shortly after being shot to the head.

It happened at about fifteen minutes to five near the Conch Shell bay Fish market where witnesses say they heard as many as 11 shots.

Trumbach was sitting in an Isuzu Trooper when a gunman rode past and started firing at the SUV. He tried to drive off but crashed into a parked van. Trumbach jumped out of the vehicle after it crashed and he started running towards the bridge - when one of the shots hit him as he was a few feet from the Vernon street bridge. He fell to the street and was rushed to the hospital while the gunman rode off.

Trumbach died shortly after at the hospital. It was an execution in broad daylight against a general in the George street gang - which suggests that an escalated level of gang warfare could follow.

Because of that, police are on high alert this evening. One person - with a long criminal record and a known affiliation to Taylor's Alley - has been detained and another, also from Taylor's Alley is being sought. Viewers will recall that there was a killing in Taylor's Alley over the weekend.

Trumbach is 28 years old and was reportedly at the market buying fish with a relative. He was on the news in November when he was charged for attempted murder.

There was another shooting at about 5:15. This one happened in the Yabra area near the corner of Fairweather and Welch Streets when a young man was shot to the hand. It is not known if that is related to the earlier shooting.
