FFB De-listed By Sports Council

FFB President Bertie Chimilio has the support of FIFA President, Sepp Blatter, but the FFB no longer has the sanction of the National Sports Council. 7news has confirmed that the sports council sent the FFB a letter today informing it that because it failed to register as a sports organization with the sports council the FFB and its affiliates will not be able to enjoy the use of any stadium or facility under the auspices of the sports council. That includes every major football stadium in Belize form the MCC, to the Issidoro Beaton in Belmopan, to Carl Ramos in Dangriga, to Norman Broaster in Cayo, the People's Stadium in Orange Walk..and the list goes on.

And the notice affects not only the FFB, but its affiliates, including the BPFL. According to the sports council, all sporting associations are required by law to register with the Sports council annually and the FFB was given a number of deadlines and extensions to do so…
