posted (April 18, 2011)
A James bus conductor was held at gunpoint and robbed in front of a bus load of passengers. It happened on Friday around midday. According to the conductor - Ernest Mangar, when the bus stopped by Rogers Stadium to let off passengers, two young men got up from the back of the bus.

Mangar says he was standing near the door - facing his passengers - when one of the men pointed a black handgun to his head and cranked it- and the other demanded him to hand over his money pouch. Fearing for his life he handed over the bag which contained one thousand dollars and 2 ticket books - property of James Bus Company. The robbers then ran off on dolphin Street. But things didn't end there. GSU officers were on patrol on Euphrates Avenue when they received information on the robbery, quick response led them to - 22 year old Samuel Alvarez Bevans - who they caught running on West Collet Canal - holding his back pants pocket and fitting the description of one of the persons involved in the robbery.

A search was conducted on Bevans where police found a point 22 revolver containing 5 live point 22 rounds of ammunition - which was inside his right back pocket. A 14 year old minor was his accomplice and he was apprehended by another police mobile patrol on Iguana Street. Police found the minor with the black money bag - containing one thousand dollars along with the 2 ticket books belonging to James Bus Company. Bevans has since been charged with kept of unlicensed firearms and kept of unlicensed ammunition. He will also be charged along with the minor for robbery.
