Hapless ATM Jackers Get Fined
posted (May 10, 2011)
Two men who were allegedly caught in the act of trying to break open a Belize Bank ATM machine were found guilty of damage to property today.

21 year old Eugene Neal and 18 year old Stephan Flowers were each fined one thousand, five hundred dollars today in the Magistrate's Court after they were found guilty.

Magistrate Dorothy Flowers gave them until June 30 to pay the fine. If they default, they will serve one year. Around 6 on the morning of October 25, 2010, Police constable Linsdale Blease was on mobile patrol on North Front Street when he saw someone in the ATM booth at the Water Taxi Terminal. Blease went to check and saw two persons dash out of the booth and jump into the river. Blease and some other police officers caught the suspects on the other side of the river. Neal and Flowers gave statements from the dock in which they said they were walking on regent Street West when they heard shots and they ran behind the Supreme Court building.
