Man Charged For Shooting Another In Face

It was another of those unexplained shootings when Gilroy Garnett Jr was shot in the face in early March. Miraculously he survived and now, police have made an arrest.

Twenty one year old Malcolm Wagner, was charged with attempted murder when he appeared today in the Magistrate's Court. Wagner was also charged with dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm.

Magistrate Albert Hoare explained to him that he will not take a plea because the offences are indictable. He was remanded into custody until June 28.

The incident occurred around 9:30P.M on March 8th. Garnett reported to the police that he was standing at the corner of Vernon and Partridge Streets talking to a friend when his assailant approached him and shot him in the right side of his face. Garnett was admitted to Ward at Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in a critical condition. He survived but is still recovering.
