Police Arrest Man For Month Old Weed Bust
posted (July 1, 2011)
On first June, we told you about a marijuana bust the GSU had made on the Coastal Road around 3:30 in the morning when the GSU intercepted a pickup truck without license plates.

A male resident of Hattieville who was the driver and only occupant of the vehicle -- scrambled out of the truck and dashed into the bushes.

In the bed of the pickup truck police found a Crocus sack with 8.9 kilos or 19.6 pounds of loose marijuana. At the time, Police said that the driver is known to them as a drug supplier who distributes cannabis to gangs in Belize City. At the time of the bust, he was returning from the Toledo District where it is believed he purchased the drugs. Well, it took a month for them to track him down - but today police went to court and charged 29 year old Delford Slusher of a West Canal address with drug trafficking.

He pleaded not guilty but the prosecution objected to bail because Slusher is a flight risk because he fled form the police when the bust was made. Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser upheld the objection and remanded Slusher into custody until July 18.
