Murder Victim’s Family Asks For Help
posted (September 1, 2011)
Around 9:30 on August 20th, 31 year old Jorge Estrada was found lying down at the corner of George and King Streets - with 3 gunshot wounds to the left side of his head. Estrada, who was an employee of Old Belize, miraculously survived the attack but passed away 2 days later.

Neighbors told police, no shots were heard around the neighborhood and so that gave police reasons to believe that Estrada was shot somewhere else and was only dumped on George Street to die. But his family isn't satisfied at just that. Today in an off camera interview with 7news, his wife told us she believes the police department is slacking up on their investigation.

Wife - Jorge Estrada
"When I went to the police station they told me something and then they tell me another thing, so they are just confusing me. Because sometimes they say it's a robbery, they said they killed him somewhere and took him to this place, and then the neighbors said they saw things but they don't want to talk and my friends already told me with whom he was drinking with that evening. They gave me names already, I gave the names to the police already and they haven't picked them up as yet for questioning at least. So I think, I don't know, they are not focusing on this case. The latest he would reach home is 9 O'clock, so I think that night, he was already heading home. Whenever he goes out even to drink, 9 O'clock is the latest he would come home. People say its revenge, I don't know, people say its robbery, but whoever sees this they should at least say something because that person has killed already and he is still out there and he is going to do it again, maybe he has already done it because they see another person got shot at the same place."

Estrada was the father of 2 boys.
